Mutual Weirdness

 I spent ages a while back updating this place with the intent to start blogging again. But sadly there hasn't been much to write about. Hubby and I have been staying home other than going to work because of the stupid virus. We were working from home for a while, but we've since both had to go back. We're doing our best to keep our masks on and be careful. Other than that, there isn't really anything going on. I'm playing Animal Crossing which has been enjoyable for the most part. My island is no where near complete as I'm not getting the DIY patterns I want. I don't have any friends to play with and I'm too anxious to work with random people to trade. I did get past that just enough to get the other fruits trees I needed and to get some blue roses as I was having no luck breeding them myself. What is the worst pain you have ever endured? Everyone has different levels of pain they can endure. But I think there is one thing that will make a person cringe no matter how stout they are. Kidney Stone. Yup, a kidney stone. A nearly microscopic piece of calcium (normally) that forms in the kidney and then proceeds to force its way out of the body. This small thing, the size of a grain of sand, can bring even the toughest of tough guys to a fetal position in the ER. And that is where I spent my Easter Sunday morning. The ER. Everything started on Good Friday though. Not so good for me. I was already planning to be off in the afternoon but ended up missing the entire day because I woke up with some odd pressure that encompassed my entire abdomen. By 10am I was in immense pain that thankfully only lasted maybe 30 minutes though a sharp achy pain took its place for the rest of the day. I was miserable but managing. My husband and I have been playing Pokemon Go for about 2 weeks now. But on the 13th I managed to join the number of players who have injured themselves while playing and I am completely embarrassed by the entire ordeal. So of course I have to share what happened. When I first started playing I couldn't understand how people were getting into trouble while playing. The game is designed so that you don't have to be constantly looking at your phone to play. If you enter the range of a pet, the phone will vibrate. If you are in range of a Pokestop it will play a sound. And catching a pet for the most part requires that you stand still. The loading screen for the game even tells you to make sure you are paying attention to what is going on around you. My husband and I were out for a walk catching Pokemon. Pokemon Go is the latest craze in mobile apps. Having never been a fan of Pokemon I wasn't planning on downloading it but alas I was sucked in. It helps that the app is free. My husband downloaded the app this morning and by lunch time he was bragging about how many he had caught already. I couldn't let that stand and started the download. There is a quick tutorial that allows you to catch your first Pokemon. I had a cute little Bulbasaur sitting on my desk at work and caught it with ease. And yes I was slacking off and shouldn't have been playing with it at work. But the longer I waited the farther ahead of me my husband would get. I managed to get my second one while checking the mail at work. Now lately I have been trying to be more active. I bought a new Fitbit and have been active in the challenges my friends and family start. I've given myself a goal of 10,000 steps a day which if I work at it I can finish before I leave work. Over spring break in March, my husband and I drove down to Louisiana to visit his family. It was a 10 hour drive to his parents house which we did all in one go over night arriving at their house around 6:3o Saturday Morning. This was our first visit in about 7 years. That Saturday happened to be my birthday and the next day was one of hubby's aunt's birthday so we all went out to dinner that evening. The little place we went to had all you can eat catfish. I didn't think to take a group picture of all of us, but I did remember to take a picture of the fish. Yum! I ate a ton of catfish it was so good! The next day we went over to Shreveport to the Boardwalk which is just a shopping are on the Red River. It was a lovely day. My favorite shop was a little place called the Chocolate Crocodile. On Friday I went with my family to the local botanical garden here which is simply called Botanica. Every year at this time they decorate nearly every inch of the gardens with lights and call it Illuminations. The weather was perfect on Friday. Mid 50s and no wind. So of course everyone and their dog was there. Traffic was backed up on three different roads trying to get there. We didn't even try to park close and went straight to the over flow parking a mile away which was already overflowing also! The line for the shuttle was long so we walked the mile over to the garden. I didn't take as many pictures this year but I did take quite a few. This tree is always so fun with all of the stuff hanging from it. This large screen is actually made up of thousands of color changing Christmas lights. They had a bunch of different song clips from movies playing on it. Two weeks ago we went to the State Fair and these metal flowers were my impulse buy for the day. They are sitting beside my front door.

Last week one of my cousin's messaged my sisters, myself and our mother's asking if we wanted to have a girl's night out, dinner, this coming Wednesday since we had a lot of fun the last time. So last night my mom, both my sister’s and their little girls (2 weeks and 2 years), my cousin and her mom (my aunt) head to Bricktown Brewery. They have several locations but the one in our town is still fairly new, opened just a few months back, and while I hadn’t eaten there yet I’d been wanting to. Also, Tuesday was my cousin’s birthday so we were celebrating her. Starting out we thought that going out on a Wednesday would mean the place wouldn’t be all that busy. Well, we were wrong, at least for this place. When we got there we told them we had 6 people plus a toddler and baby so we'd need a high chair and sling. One more cruise post, this one featuring all of the towel art on the cruise. One of the things that Carnival Cruise lines is famous for is their towel animals. Each night while at dinner, the staff turns down the rooms for the evening. When they do, they leave the schedule of events for the next day along with a cute towel animal. I took a picture of the one in our room for each night. We never really figured out what this one is. It became a toss up between an elephant and an aardvark. It's wearing the hubby's sunglasses though. A few times they would pick up items we left out and add them to the animal. A monkey hanging from the mirror. The sunglasses and necklace were mine. Hubby thinks this was a rabbit lounging on the bed. I'm not so sure, but I don't know of any other animal that has ears like that. A crab being crabby. A cute puppy. A lovely lobster.
